St. Stephens A.M.E Computer Lab
Because the Children are the future, we have to keep up with technology. We have, Kids Corner; Children's Programming and Story Time as well as computer games. Our programs begin with the grace of hospitality and are centered around an atmosphere of mutual respect. We provide a continum of care that is both residential and educational in a spiritual manner. Our variety of programs include basic computer training and GED preparation

"INTRODUCTION TO PERSONAL COMPUTING"
This beginning level class is a hands-on course providing a solid foundation in personal computer skills used in business and individual applications. Students will gain introductory skills in using Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint. Students should understand that this is an entry-level course with content at an introductory level. The tuition includes class handout.
"INTRODUCTION TO THE INTERNET"
You will learn the terms, see the sites, and practice the skills necessary to become comfortable using the Internet. The instructor will show you tricks and techniques that will enhance your use of the Internet. Tuition includes comprehensive class handbook.
"KEYBOARDING"
Learn and improve your typing skills on a computer in this self-paced typing class. Introduction to typing / keyboarding for those adults with little or no formal typing experience. It is also ideal for those with some typing skills who want to improve speed and accuracy. The software used provides an individual program, which includes self-paced study at different skill levels -- from novice to expert. This method allows you to enhance your strengths and work on your weaknesses. The computer scores and times your work. And More!!!

Educational Programs are at the center of Lad services. Classes include Literacy Program Learning, GED Preparation, Job Skills, Word Processing, Organizational Skills, Basic Computer Skills, Developing a Resume, Survival,Anger Management, Bible Study, Prayer, Theological Reflections, Women's Issues, Alcohol and Drugs, Art. We hope to offer more classes in the year to come.
